I decided I'd upload one of the closeups of my Ogryn Bone 'ead in a means to point out what I think is the difference in painting figures and painting armies. Big Al, here, is a classic example of how I paint things to 'gaming standard,' as the common phrase is used. His skin is drybrushed and there is very little highlighting on his armour or weaponry. Minimal highlighting on his face, and then a brown and black ink over the whole model to provide some basic shading.
Yet, on the table, he looks awesome.
Also: Bone 'ead is an acronym, as it happens. Biochemical Ogryn Neural Enhancement: BONE. Fact from back in the day!
I didn't know that was an acronym, sweet. This is damn good for mere table top quality.

When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one
individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is an idiot.
It's not been recognized as such in a long while. Thought I'd put it up as one of the Guard players that still remembers, as it's such a neat acronym - it also makes Bone 'ead sound a little less stupid, in my opinion! ;D

I'd also like to say thanks for that awesome bit of geek trivia. I shall astound my wargaming buddy when he gets back from uni.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
